4月25日、15時半過ぎのウッドデッキ。明るい日差しに誘われて、今日もちびっ子からお年寄り、そして可愛いペットまで、思い思いのスタイルで集まっています。

手押し車に乗せた愛犬を愛おしそうに可愛がる老人がいれば、すぐ近くのベンチではベビーカーを優しく押すお母さんの姿も。ふと目をやると、白髪の老人が熱心にスマホに見入っています。「年に似合わず？」なんて言葉は、自由なこの海岸では野暮というもの。すぐそばでは、お兄さんがデッキの上に豪快に仰向けになり、スマホを見上げてくつろいでいます。

広場に張られたテントの中からは若者たちの賑やかな談笑が聞こえ、オレンジ色のテントでは外国人のグループが楽しげに時を過ごしています。微笑ましい家族の姿もあちこちに。息子の最高の瞬間をカメラに収めようとするお母さんや、四輪車にお子さんを乗せて嬉しそうに引っ張るお父さん。そんな人々の頭上を突き抜けるように、おばさんの高らかな笑い声が響き渡り、こちらまで明るい気持ちにさせてくれます。

今は持ち主がどこかへ行っているのか、ウインドサーフィン用の大きなセイル（羽根）が静かに横たわっています。

それぞれが好きなことをし、お互いの時間を尊重し合う。この大らかな包容力こそが、湘南の海の何よりの魅力ですな。

Sunshine and Smiles on the Deck: A Vibrant Spring Afternoon in Shonan

April 25th, shortly after 3:30 PM. Bathed in the warm, bright sunlight of spring, the coastal wooden deck was bustling with life today. Surrounded by the gentle sea breeze and the occasional, peaceful cawing of crows, the scenes captured the essence of a rich, everyday afternoon in Shonan.

People of all generations, along with their beloved pets, gathered to enjoy the day in their own unique ways. An elderly gentleman could be seen doting on his dog resting in a small cart, while nearby, a mother gently pushed her baby stroller. A bit further away, a silver-haired man was completely absorbed in his smartphone—proof that age doesn’t matter when it comes to enjoying technology by the sea! Right next to him, a young man lay flat on his back on the wooden planks, casually looking up at his screen.

Lively conversations drifted from nearby tents, including an orange one where a group of international visitors were enjoying their time together. Heartwarming family moments were everywhere: a mother trying her best to snap a perfect photo of her son, and a father joyfully pulling his child in a small four-wheeled wagon. Over the murmur of the crowd, the cheerful, ringing laughter of a woman echoed across the deck, bringing a smile to everyone around.

A large windsurfing sail lay resting, its owner likely out enjoying the water. Everyone doing what they love, yet perfectly in harmony with one another.

This welcoming, open-hearted atmosphere is truly the greatest charm of the Shonan coast.

4月12日、15時45分。よく晴れ渡った青空の下、湘南の東海岸にある浜辺は、元気いっぱいのちびっ子サッカー選手たちの熱気に包まれていました。

砂浜に一応設置されたゴールを目指し、ゼッケンを付けている子もいない子も、夢中でボールを追いかけます。試合中には、「ヘイヘイ！」と、まるでいっぱしの大人じみた威勢のいいかけ声も響き渡り、本気度が伝わってきます。

よく観ると、男の子たちに混じって、女の子が一人。ゼッケン7番を付けた彼女は、果敢にボールに絡み、縦横無尽に動き回る勇ましい姿を見せています。そんな中、ゼッケン10番の選手がキックしようとした瞬間、突然足に痛みが走ったのか、動きを止めてしまいます。すぐにゼッケン2番の選手が駆け寄りますが、少しもたもたしているところへ、先ほどの女子選手7番がサッサと駆けつけ、替わりに力強くキック！彼女の積極的なプレーには、思わず目を見張ります。

その後は両チーム入り乱れての混戦模様に。指導者の「PKだ」という鋭い叫び声が響き、10番の選手が再びキックに挑みます。

将来の三苫や久保を目指し、W杯メンバー入りも夢じゃない！湘南の砂浜から世界へ羽ばたく日を夢見て、ボールを追い続ける子供たち。彼らの純粋な情熱と元気な姿に、心からのエールを送りたくなる、そんな素敵な春の午後でした。

Little Fantasistas on the Sand: From Shonan to the World!

April 12th, at 3:45 PM. Under a beautifully clear blue sky, the beach on the east coast of Shonan was filled with the vibrant energy of young soccer players. Aiming for the makeshift goals set up on the sand, children—some wearing pinnies and others not—chased the ball with absolute focus. During the match, spirited shouts of “Hey, hey!” echoed across the shore, sounding remarkably like grown-up players and showing just how serious they were about the game.

Looking closely, there was one girl playing alongside the boys. Wearing jersey number 7, she played bravely, fiercely contesting the ball and running all over the pitch with admirable courage. In the middle of the action, the player in jersey number 10 stopped suddenly just as he was about to kick, seemingly struck by a sudden pain in his leg. While number 2 quickly rushed over but hesitated for a moment, the girl, number 7, dashed in without a second thought and took the kick for him! Her proactive play was truly impressive.

After that, the match turned into a chaotic scramble. The coach’s sharp voice rang out, shouting “Penalty kick!”, and player number 10 stepped up to take the shot once again.

With eyes on becoming the next Mitoma or Kubo, dreaming of the World Cup squad is certainly not out of reach! Wishing them the best as they chase the ball on the Shonan sands, dreaming of the day they take flight into the world. It was a wonderful spring afternoon that made you want to cheer for their pure passion and boundless energy from the bottom of your heart.

2026-04-02 15:37 〜 15:38 サザンビーチの東側、約130メートルにわたるサイクリングロードの整備工事が3月27日に完了しました。茅ヶ崎サザンCの脇から眺めると、まっすぐに伸びる新しい道が眩しいですね。西側から旧道を望め 、そこには「通行止」の表示。長年親しんだ景色が、ひとつ役割を終えた瞬間です。

2026-04-04 16:36 東側から旧道を眺めると「高波のため通行止」の看板が。津波警報の際など、実際に避難や規制で使われた記憶が蘇ります。ここはかつて市営中海岸プールや駐車場があった場所。地元民にとっては、空き地になる前の賑やかな風景もセットで思い出される、記憶の交差点でもあります。
