9月13日の午後16時すぎ、茅ヶ崎漁港海岸公園にはまだ真さかりの陽気が漂っていました。タイルの上に直接上半身裸で寝そべり、脇の下までしっかりと太陽の光を取り込もうと両手を広げる男性の姿が目を引きます。硬いタイルの上で背中が痛くならないか少し心配になってしまうほどのくつろぎっぷりで、太めのお腹もそのままに、たっぷりと日光浴を満喫していました。
少し離れた場所では、中年のご夫婦でしょうか、ときおり魔法瓶から水分補給をしながら、静かに浜辺を眺めて穏やかな午後の時間を過ごしています。さらに数メートル離れた位置には若い女性が一人で座っており、その少し先にも別の人がぽつんと腰を下ろしている。誰もが周りを気にすることなく、それぞれに独自の世界に浸っているのがこの湘南の海の開放的なところです。
赤いランニングパンツをはき、上半身裸になったお兄さんが北へ向かって黙々と駆け抜けていく。
かと思えば、おしゃれなパナマ帽をかぶった中年男性が、砂浜から公園の中央へとゆっくりと歩を進めていきます。
柔らかな雲の合間には心地よい青空が広がり、望む限りの自由を許してくれる空間が、この場所にはいつも穏やかに用意されています。
An Afternoon at Chigasaki Fishing Port Coastal Park: Immersed in Individual Worlds
September 13th, shortly after 4:00 PM, Chigasaki Fishing Port Coastal Park was still basking in the warmth of true summer.
Catching the eye immediately was a shirtless man lying directly on the tiled ground, spreading his arms wide as if trying to soak up the sun right down to his sides. With an absolute lack of concern for whether his back might hurt against the hard tiles, he was fully indulging in a generous sunbath, bare belly and all.
A short distance away, a middle-aged couple—perhaps husband and wife—sat quietly gazing at the beach, occasionally taking sips from a thermos to pass the peaceful afternoon. A few meters further, a young woman sat by herself, and another figure rested a bit further down. This is the true charm of the Shonan coast: everyone can immerse themselves in their own private world without a care for those around them.
A shirtless runner in red athletic shorts jogged steadily toward the north, while a middle-aged man wearing a stylish Panama hat walked leisurely from the sand toward the center of the park.
Beneath a pleasant blue sky peeking through soft clouds, this space always remains a welcoming sanctuary, granting everyone as much freedom as they desire.
